Learn the history of jazz by focusing on its most important musicians--by instrument. Learn the sound and differences of its finest players, as well as their biographies. Plenty of performance videos will illustrate the evolution of jazz from the forties up to today.

Jerry Gordon

JERRY GORDON was the founder of Third Street Jazz, once one of the most famous jazz record stores in the world. He also founded Evidence Music, a jazz and blues record label that issued over 350 recordings, all of which he personally supervised, reissued, or produced, including the historic reissues of Sun Ra's legendary 'Saturn' recordings. He served three years as a member of the National Endowment of the Arts Recording Panel, one year as its co-chairman. Currently he is a radio host on WPRB, Princeton University, where he presents jazz, blues, rhythm and blues and pop music, and is a consultant to the recording industry.
