Learn how writing fiction interacts with memory. Sometimes we begin to think that what we have written is real. Sometimes writing changes the past, just as re-imagining the past does. Asali Solomon discusses the process of writing her most recent novel, The Days of Afrekete, which is a novel that is about love lost, big life decisions and how memory works. She will also talk a bit about her previous works, coming-of-age stories that drew more obviously on her own autobiography as a Black West Philadelphian who attended school on the Main Line.
