The Asian American experience is one characterized by great diversity, complexity and challenge. Asian Americans are often begrudgingly praised as “model minorities,” while simultaneously remaining “perpetual foreigners” viewed as interlopers in Western society. Address the history of Asian American experiences in the U.S., and its links with the most recent wave of anti-Asian hate and violence that swept the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. Address how to support Asian American communities and youth, and help build towards a better future.
