Learn how to chop, slice, mince and julienne your way to success in the kitchen in this class which covers basic knife skills. Discuss types of knives and their uses, how to hold them and safety. Follow along as Dianne shows you techniques to gain confidence and speed for cutting fruits, vegetables, onions, garlic, herbs and other kitchen staples. She’ll use a chef’s knife and a paring knife but if you have other knives keep them handy for class.

Dianne Dillman

Chef Dianne graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York in their first class to admit women. She's been a chef at three and four star restaurants, a caterer, a food purchaser and a baker. Chef Dianne loves pie so much she's been known to spend the day foraging in the woods for black and red raspberries for them and even to steal apples from the neighbor's tree for them!
