Di Bruno Bros.
Di Bruno Bros.Tommy Amorim
Tommy Amorim started working at Di Bruno Bros. in the Italian Market store on 9th street as a Cheesemonger in 2008. His Grandfather, Giuseppe Abbruzzo, who was an incredible inspiration, had just passed away and was a staple behind the Italian Market store counter for 62 years. Tommy understood even then, that being the end of the line for cheesemakers and affineurs from all around the world was a tradition that was to be honored and upheld. He realized it was his job to help people find exactly what they wanted; it was in his blood to aid fellow food lovers in this search. It was more than a job-- it was a calling: to find, learn about, teach, serve, and celebrate the amazing producers and gourmet delights all day, every day. Mongers like Tommy, stand vigilant at the counter to highlight the tireless efforts of the farmers, cheesemakers, and affineurs who make possible everything Di Bruno Bros. offers and enjoy. Consider Tommy as your library and cheese sherpa through the abundance of selection the world has to offer. Tommy competed in and won The Cheesemonger Invitational in NYC, a competition that pits Cheesemongers from all over the country against each other for guts, glory, and honor!
