Merrill Reese has captivated us as "The Voice of the Philadelphia Eagles" since 1977 and his coverage was ever sweeter when he uttered those words on February 4, 2018. And celebrate we did! Join Philadelphia's beloved play-by-play announcer as he discusses his career, the long-awaited Super Bowl win and the most recent successes of the Eagles. There will be a brief Q&A following the presentation.

Merrill Reese

Merrill Reese has been the play-by-play voice of the Philadelphia Eagles since 1977. The games are aired by CBS stations 94 WYSP and Sportsradio 610 WIP as well as a network of affiliates throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Reese and New England Patriots broadcaster Gil Santos have the longest stretches of service in the NFL. Early years Reese honed his skills as a student at Temple University, where he broadcast football, baseball, and Big 5 college basketball. Following graduation, he served as a public affairs officer in the U.S. Navy. Radio career Following active duty, Merrill began his professional career at WPAZ Radio in Pottstown, PA. A year later, he landed at WBCB in Levittown, PA. Ironically, in 1995, Reese became the managing partner as well as vice president and general manager of WBCB. During the 1980's, he handled the morning sports and served as sports director of WIP Radio – one of the most successful broadcast entities in the country. He was also the communications director, as well as the television play-by-play host, for the Philadelphia Freedoms of World Team Tennis. Later, he teamed with Hall of Fame tennis star Billie Jean King on telecasts for the Madison Square Garden network in New York. He was also the on-camera host and play-by-play voice of ESPN's award-winning series, "NFL Dream Season," in 1990. Personal life Merrill resides in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, with his wife Cindy. Their son Nolan is a film editor in Hollywood, California, and their daughter Ida is a graphic designer in New York. Reese is an avid golfer and competes in numerous charity tournaments. He is the celebrity chairman of the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation. He is also the honorary chairman of the Bucks County March of Dimes. In addition, he has worked with the Spina Bifida Foundation, Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, the Eagles Youth Partnership, and the Eagles Fly for Leukemia. Publications His biography, It's Gooooood, was published in 1998. His highly acclaimed book, Sportscasting: Turning Your Passion Into a Profession, was published in June 2010 and is available for purchase through this website.
