Andrew Heckert

ANDREW HECKERT, in 1973, began studying Tai Chi in Philadelphia with Maggie Newman, and was one of the six senior students of Cheng Man-ching’s school in Manhattan, the Shr-jung. In 1981, he began study with William Chen in New York City. For the next ten years he commuted to New York to attend classes in Chen’s school and took private lessons. During summers he attended weeklong workshops in the Catskills given by his classmate Ben Lo of San Francisco. In 1989, he became a student of Dr. Ping-siang Tao of Taiwan.
