Work by your instincts or intuitive choices to create small scale original paintings. We’ll explore color mixing, balance, texture and methods of paint application. Receive guidance as well as freedom to explore the medium. We’ll troubleshoot along the way and discuss that pivotal point when a painting could be finished.

Notes:

Supplies to bring to class: -4 small canvases or canvas boards (max size 12x12 or 11x14) -4 paintbrushes: the widest being 2.5-3" max (Home Depot has great brush prices) -palette paper -acrylic paints: black, white, red, yellow, blue. More colors are great but not necessary. -container for water -roll of paper towels -palette knife (at least 2.5") -spray bottle 3 types of small to medium sized brushes, a small palette knife, either palette paper (recommended) or a mixing tray/palette, 2 regular 12x12" pre-stretched canvas, paper towels and/or a rag, an empty jar or container and a spray bottle for water

Jule Snyder

Julianne (Jule) Snyder is a painter, dog mom, volunteer & owner of Black Arrow Arts. Creative expression is a vital channel of self expression and communication. She has a deep desire to help people live happier, more fulfilling lives and is committed to making the world a more connected place. Dealing with a history of challenging health issues led her to spirituality and prompted her to dig deeper into her own psyche. She feels called to make the world better through her dedication to personal growth, advocacy and the energy she shares. Jule regularly donates her time, artwork and funds to local animal rescues and philanthropic causes. Animals and art are great catalysts for healing. Jule has shown her artwork in Philadelphia & the surrounding area since 2001 and has recently branched out to New Jersey, New York and California.
