More than anything, WW II in the Pacific represented an historic clash of cultures that affected Asia. Here's your chance to learn what you don't know about the cultural differences and logistical challenges which faced Americans fighting in the Pacific. Course includes a brief introduction to Japan's pre war cultural history and the economic factors which led to Pearl Harbor. New and returning students will gain further insights into the cultural consequences of MacArthur's Island Hopping campaign across the Solomon Islands, New Guinea and the Phillipines and other major naval battles.
