Focusing on the years between the end of WWII and the Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962, learn about the postwar political alignments and the development and maturation of the Cold War. Explore specific incidents such as the Berlin Blockade and the Korean War, and conclude with an examination of and lessons learned from the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Originally from West Virginia, my professional experience is in public finance, politics (I'm a former elected official), and history. I have a BA in Political Science/Economics from WVU, a master's in public administration from Syracuse, and at the age of fifty I went back and earned a second master's at George Washington University, this time in history, with a principal focus on US and late Imperial Russia and the USSR. While at GWU in 2011, I also did a semester of graduate assistant teaching in US history. My years in politics have honed my speaking and overall presentation capabilities.N/A
