Scott Nye

A native of Wooster, Ohio, Scott is a forty-year golf industry veteran. Scott was a four-time golf All-America selection at The College of Wooster (OH). He served as the Head Golf Professional at Country Club of York (PA) from 1990-2000. In the fall of 2000 he arrived at Merion and has recently finished a 24 year run as the Director of Golf at Merion. Scott was named the Philadelphia PGA Golf Professional of the Year in 2012 and the PGA of America’s National Merchandiser of the Year in 2014. Over the years, Scott served as the host professional for five USGA Championships. At Country Club of York, Scott help host the 1999 United States Junior Amateur Championship. While at Merion, he was involved in the 2005 United States Amateur Championship, the 2009 Walker Cup, the 2013 United States Open Championship and the 2022 Curits Cup. Merion will play host to the 2026 United States Amateur Championship, the 2030, 2040 and 2050 United States Open Championship and the 2034 and 2046 United States Women’s Open.
