Inspired by the current Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition, Caspar David Friedrich: The Soul of Nature, explore how he reimagined European landscape painting in ways that moved a diverse range of artists to champion a new understanding of nature. Infused with the precepts of the German Romanticism movement, his landscape paintings reveal a vision of the natural world as a spiritual and emotional landscape See how his work influenced such contemporary artists as Edvard Munch and Mark Rothko.
