Michael McDermott

Professional Michael McDermott serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Kathmere Capital Management, one of the region’s fastest growing wealth management firms. Michael has almost 30 years of experience in the wealth management industry. In his role, he drives the firm’s strategic vision and plays an active role in managing many of its key client relationships. Additionally, Michael serves on Kathmere’s Investment Committee, helping to shape the firm’s investment strategies. A graduate of St. Joseph’s University, Michael was a standout member of the golf team being named the Top Athlete in his Graduating Class of 1997 and eventually being inducted into the St. Joseph’s University Athletics Hall of Fame. He was also named an All-American Scholar, a national award given to those who excel both in the classroom and in their sport. He remains an active and competitive golfer in both local and national events. Michael also recently published a book called The Efficient Family Office. The book highlights how the most effective modern advisory firms are refining their innovative services and value to clients after the “Family Office” models used by the world’s wealthiest. It offers practical guidance on what to expect from elite advisory teams and how to ensure you are optimizing the value of the advice that your situation deserves. Personal Michael is active in the community as a board member of The Cobbs Creek Restoration Foundation. This organization has created an education partnership with The Tiger Woods Foundation on a formerly well-known, but defunct golf course in Philadelphia. Michael is also a co-founder of The GolfBridge Society, an organization seeking to provide mentorship and leadership advice to a younger generation of golfers by pairing up these high school aged children with business leaders from the Philadelphia community. Michael lives in Wayne, PA with his wife and 3 sons.
