OR
Qatar is a peculiar place-a tiny peninsular kingdom along the Persian Gulf with less than 400,000 citizens. Yet it has hosted the FIFA World Cup, entertains sprawling campuses of Western universities, and harbors one of America's largest overseas airbases, all while playing a frontline role in every major conflict in the Middle East. This class will explore Qatar's past and present, and trace the extraordinary cosmopolitan trajectory of this unassuming Arab state.
