"The independent judiciary is something we should be thankful for." (Chief Justice Roberts, November 2018) How did a court of law emerge as the supreme judge of the constitutionality of acts of Congress and the Executive branch? Follow the long path of 'righteous resistance' as it developed through the history of the English-speaking peoples from the Anglo-Saxon Witangemot though the Anglo-Norman Magna Carta to the English and American Bills of Rights, the challenges of the civil rights movements and all that confronts us today and perhaps tomorrow.
