This presentation focuses on what gives the province of Alsace, a region of France lying between the Vosges mountains and the Rhine river, a distinct flavor: its tumultuous history, its dramatic topography equally divided between a mountain range to the west and a fertile valley to the east, its artistic treasures—the Gothic cathedral of Strasbourg in pink sandstone and the 13th-century Isenheim Altarpiece in Colmar, its colorful villages and vineyards spread out on the charming Alsatian Wine Road.
