The Guggenheim's exhibit of Jean-Michel Basquiat focuses on his ‘Defacement’ painting about police brutality. The painting depicts the fate of African American artist, Michael Stewart. Six white police officers faced charges related to Stewart’s death. All six were acquitted. After a docent led exhibition, lunch will be on your own. The afternoon will be spent with a guided tour of the American Folk Art Museum, to introduce you to folk and self-taught art.
