Extension-There are myriad choices a poet makes in writing – the sound, rhythm, word choice, rhyme, internal rhyme, or no rhyme, the form, the look of the poem, its meaning, its purpose, etc. It's often a lonely task, but this class presents an antidote to that solitude. Bring in one of your poems every week, and enough copies for everyone in class. We will read aloud and discuss student poems, explore elements of poetry, and even experiment with different forms.
