Judge Pratter began her judicial service in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in June 2004 after a career with Duane Morris LLP where she concentrated in litigation. Judge Pratter became that firm’s first General Counsel. Judge Pratter continues life-long service in numerous professional, community and education organizations. As an Adjunct Faculty member of the University of Pennsylvania Law School she has taught Trial Advocacy for a number of years and she previously served on the School’s Board of Overseers. Judge Pratter was appointed by Chief Justice Roberts first to the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Civil Rules where she participated in the recent amendment of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. In 2019, she was appointed to the Judicial Conference Rules of Practice and Procedures Committee (“Standing Rules Committee”). Judge Pratter has written articles for professional publications, frequently speaks on professionalism and ethics topics and has traveled several times to former Soviet-bloc countries to address judicial ethics and case management for complex litigation in joint Department of State/Department of Justice Rule of Law programs for judges, practitioners and law students. She is a graduate of Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.Mary Scullion
Sister Mary Scullion has been involved in service work and advocacy for homeless and mentally ill persons since 1978. In 1989, Sister Mary and Joan Dawson McConnon co-founded Project HOME, a nationally recognized organization that provides supportive housing, employment, education and health care to enable chronically homeless and low-income persons to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Under their leadership, Project HOME has grown from an emergency winter shelter to 900 units of housing, three social enterprises, the Honickman Learning Center Comcast Technology Lab which is acatalyst for education and employment; and the Steven Klein Wellness Center. Sister Mary has received numerous honorary doctorates for her leadership, most recently from Georgetown and the University of Pennsylvania. She was selected by Time Magazine as one of the “World’s Most Influential People in 2009”. In addition, Sister Mary and Joan received the Laetare Medal from Notre Dame University in 2011, the most prestigious honor given to American Catholics.Marilou Smith
Marilou Smith is a Senior Project Manager in the Facilities Management Office at Villanova University. She graduated from Villanova University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, is LEED certified and has over 35 years of experience in design, construction and project management. Marilou has managed a wide range of projects for the University including the construction of the Structural Engineering Teaching and Research Laboratory and the M. Louise Fitzpatrick Hall, and a 200,000 square foot renovation to the Mendel Hall Science building. Recently, she completed the largest Construction project development at Villanova University. This project included transforming the University main parking lots along Lancaster Avenue into a new living and learning environment that is highlighted by the Commons, residential housing for 1,135 students, The John and Joan Mullen Center for the Performing Arts, a pedestrian bridge crossing Lancaster Avenue to the entrance of St. Thomas of Villanova Church, a (2) story addition and face lift to an existing garage on campus and new parking garage on Ithan Avenue.Susan Van Allen
