Interested in attracting birds, butterflies and beneficial insects to your garden but are short on space or time? You don’t need to have a large garden to grow beautiful flowers, vegetables or tasty herbs. In this four-season approach to using containers to create unique focal points in your landscape, learn the techniques for designing a container garden using low maintenance, environmentally friendly native plants, herbs and annuals as well as recommendations for varieties to select for color, texture, sun and shade.

Marcia Tate

Marcia Tate is a garden designer & coach, writer, photographer, speaker and teacher specializing in native plants. She helps her clients grow beautiful gardens where people, plants and wildlife thrive together in a healthy setting. She is a member of GardenComm: Garden Communicators International, an organization of green industry professionals and is a founding member of their Sustainability Committee. Marcia is vice-president of the board of directors and active member of Friends of Glen Providence Park, where she regularly leads restoration plantings, stream clean ups and educational community events. In addition to her horticultural work with private and commercial clients, Marcia is a popular speaker and workshop leader for garden clubs, industry conferences, environmental organizations, and public gardens including Mt. Cuba Center, Longwood Gardens, Native Plants in the Landscape Conference, Morris Arboretum and Audubon PA.
