Philadelphia is a city where there are serious issues around poverty and hunger. Less than 1 percent of residents in low income and communities of color have access to fresh food, resulting in high levels of diet related disease. The Food Justice Initiative, among others, is working to bolster affordable access to healthy food. See how you can help find solutions to these complex food insecurity issues by learning where your food is sourced, connecting with local farmers and food producers/distributors, supporting food banks, lessening food waste at home and in your community along with tips on growing your own food and donating to those who do not have enough to eat. Each week includes a tasting relevant to the topic.
Fee: $79.00
