We in the West are a product of the Enlightenment. We think and act quite differently from those who lived before this eighteenth-century intellectual revolution. Beginning with a discussion of the seventeenth-century Scientific Revolution, we will explore the intellectual transformation that resulted and shaped the modern world. How did Galileo and Newton inspire the Declaration of Independence?
