Release stress and fascial restrictions (areas of tension and tightness) in this therapeutic movement class. Unwind your body and mind exploring movement, touch, breath and posture to create the balance of softness and strength. Learn simple ways to restore energy, mobility and stability. Prevent and treat issues in tissues and chronic pain naturally and autonomously. Feel more relaxed understanding how to listen and care for the communication and fluid system, fascia. Students will need a full sized foam roller, 2 yoga blocks (or books similarly shaped), blanket or towel and a chair.

Emily Smith

Emily Smith began her practice in 2003 and is now a licensed massage and bodywork therapist with expert level training in The John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach®, a Physicalmind Institute certified Pilates, yin yoga, restorative movement and qigong practitioner trained in Daisy Lee’s Women’s Radiant Lotus Qigong. She began her journey into myofascial release in 2012 receiving, studying, and practicing the healing art with John Barnes. Emily’s practice is rooted in an open and sensitive heart, genuine curiosity about her clients, and love for helping people care for themselves. She brings practical knowledge from her own experiences of healing and transformation and lifelong learning from innovative masters of the healing and movement arts. Through a unique combination of myofascial release, massage therapy, and nourishing movement, Emily helps you improve mobility, posture and balance, restore the balance of softness and tension, and remember your reflexive core strength. She offers long term solutions for living a healthy, happy, and active life free of pain. Emily is grateful to have loved practicing and living in Pennsylvania, Hawaii, Colorado, and Alaska and has been happy to be home in Black Mountain, NC since 2020.
