You will discover the lives and legacies women such as Isabella D’Este, Vittoria Colonna and Artemisia Gentileschi whose accomplishments can still inspire us today as well as the stories of several unheralded women who inspired some of most beloved artists and greatest artworks of all time.

Carla Gambescia

Carla Gambescia is the author of the acclaimed book La Dolce Vita University: An Unconventional Guide to Italian Culture from A-to-Z, a rousing tribute to Italy, Italians and a culture that has contributed so much to the world. The book was the winner of the Silver Prize for “Best Travel Book of the Year 2019” awarded by the North American Travel Journalists Association. A native of Philadelphia, Carla is also a marketing executive, former restaurateur and avid traveler; she co-created the Giro del Gelato bike tour which won OUTSIDE Magazine’s Best Trip in Western Europe.
