The most beloved of her novels, Pride and Prejudice is a charming introduction to Jane Austen's witty dialogue and subtly intricate style of writing. We will discuss manners, motives and marriage and see how they are informed by and reflect the Regency era in which she wrote. Film clips will also be shown. Virginia Woolf said of Austen that "of all great writers, she is the most difficult to catch in the act of greatness.” We will catch her in the act and see where her greatness lies.
