Witness the evolution of Japan from the hunter-gatherers of the Jomon culture to the postwar era where pop culture exports have become global fixtures. Experience the inception of national identity through the expansion of the Yamato Confederacy and importation of Buddhism. See how art and culture bloomed during the reign of the Tokugawa shogunate - the era in which artist Utagawa Hiroshige created The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tôkaidô.
