One of the greatest intellectual achievements in human history has been wayfinding for food, shelter, emigration or adventure. Join former naval officer Hicks for a classroom simulation, learn and practice navigational techniques to safely voyage from England to the Chesapeake Bay in a merchant galleon in 1611. Materials fee ($15) payable to instructor.

Robert Hicks
Instructor: Robert D. Hicks, PhD is an independent scholar of the history of science and medicine, former director of the Mütter Museum of Philadelphia, and naval officer. He has worked with museum-based education and exhibits for four decades, primarily as a consultant to historic sites and museums.
