This exploration of wondrous windows and mysterious doors in works by Vermeer, Manet and others shows how artists opened up new vistas in painting. Doorzien, Dutch for “seeing through,” takes us to scenes of interior windows and doors where we glimpse grit and beauty beyond their boundaries, including trains that speak of modernity, and the stage-like wonder of Central Park. Historic to contemporary paintings come to life in this conversational class enriched by short videos.
