This class is an introduction to American Sign Language (ASL), one of the primary languages used by the Deaf community in the U.S. Designed for absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of ASL, class will be taught by a Deaf individual. You will be introduced to ASL grammar, Deaf culture, and the history of Deaf culture and ASL.

Amanda Morrone

Amanda Morrone is a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) from Philadelphia. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in American Sign Language Interpreting. She is certified as an ASL Educational Interpreter in Chester County where she is currently employed. Amanda is also working towards her National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf certification. In her spare time, she plans trips around the world to gain exposure to new languages and cultures. Locally, she enjoys playing on recreational sport teams, attending concerts and spending time with her niece and nephew.
