The Iliad, a story of the Trojan War, still speaks to us 3,000 years later with a compelling story and characters. Told and retold over many generations, it is a vehicle for exploring numerous themes, including the effects of war, the inevitability of death, family ties and what it means to be human.

The instructor recommends the Stanley Lombardo translation of The Iliad.
