Explore the elements and processes of creating fiction from short stories to novels and from contemporary to genre fiction. Classes combine lectures, writing prompts, and assigned readings. Topics covered include writing fully realized characters, creating compelling beginnings, selecting the right point of view for your story, and narrative strategies for editing and revising, as well as publishing. Come prepared to write.

Gregory Frost
Gregory Frost is a writer of best-selling fantasy, supernatural thrillers and science fiction. His latest novel-length work is the YA-crossover duology, Shadowbridge & Lord Tophet (Del Rey/Random House), voted “one of the four best fantasy novels of the year” by the American Library Association. His previous novel, the historical thriller, Fitcher’s Brides (Tor Books), was a finalist for both the World Fantasy and International Horror Guild Awards for Best Novel.
