Fred Lavner

Fred Lavner worked his way thru Temple University in the early 70s as a joke writer, churning out pages of gags for the likes of David Brenner, Joan Rivers, Rodney Dangerfield, and Steve Landesberg. The joke was on them when Fred decided to work in a more stable profession upon graduation, embarking on an award-winning career as a writer/producer/creative director in advertising. Fred managed to keep his head in humor over the years by moonlighting as a script doctor, speech writer, and essayist for numerous publications. In recent years Fred has written several humor books, performs both stand-up and sit-down comedy, and continues to find the funny in everyday life.
