Feeling overwhelmed by stress and anxiety? You're not alone but there's a surprising solution: sensory awareness. This practice, called sense foraging, involves focusing on your present-moment sensations. By tuning into your senses more often, you can break free from negative thoughts, leading to a greater sense of well-being. This class will help you cultivate a deeper connection with your surroundings and a renewed understanding of the present moment.

Clayton Platt

Clayton Platt’s professional background is a reflection of his diverse interests and talents. He served in leadership positions in finance and not-for-profit fundraising for over 30 years and then began what has been a very successful career as a corporate trainer and executive coach. Clayton has facilitated leadership development and performance improvement training at a wide range of organizations, including Fortune 50 companies, representing several of the most respected international learning and development companies. Clayton’s deep passion for helping individuals and teams discover and live into their true potential has been bolstered by his study of (and achievement of official certifications in) NeuroLeadership, and Emotional Intelligence. In January 2021 after practicing meditation for 20 years, Clayton completed a two-year intensive certification program to teach mindfulness meditation. In many ways this was the natural combination of his gifts and experiences; he has led over 300 hours of virtual mindfulness sessions since the beginning of 2020 and has personally participated in an annual average of four-day silent retreats since 2019. Clayton has enjoyed his previous opportunities to teach at MLSN both in-person and virtual classes. He launched his podcast Magic in the Moment – Mindfulness in Real Time and his book with the same title will be published in the fall of 2024.
