Michele Marsh

Michele Marsh, PhD, CST is a Licensed Psychologist born and raised in the Philadelphia area. Dr. Marsh has practiced in various mental health and educational settings. She completed her doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania, where she began her focus on human systems and how they function and can change. She has been in private practice and agency practice (at Council for Relationships) providing individual, couple, family and sex therapy. Dr. Marsh specializes in relationships of all kinds, and believes that the languages we use are the main vehicles we have for reaching others—both to understand them and to benefit from their understanding. These languages include words, body movements, facial expressions and tone—all of which contribute to connecting with others or creating more distance between us and them. Dr. Marsh is a speaker and teacher on many psychology-related subjects. Academically, she taught couple, family and sex therapy at Jefferson University’s Masters Program in Marriage and Family Therapy for many years, including being the Director of Sex Therapy Education there. She continues to teach sex therapy classes at Council for Relationships. Dr. Marsh has also spoken to many groups in the area regarding couple and family relationships, communication and conflict resolution strategies. She is committed to each person getting help that gives them direction and energy toward increasing their present and future satisfaction and happiness. Her style of presenting has been described as warm, empathic and collaborative.
