Climate change is causing profound environmental impacts, including warmer temperature, changes in precipitation and sea-level rise. It is also causing profound impacts on public health, including heat-related disorders, respiratory problems, vectorborne diseases, waterborne diseases, malnutrition, violence and mental health problems. Review these health problems and learn what we, as a society and as individuals, can do to prevent them.

Barry S. Levy, M.D., M.P.H., is a physician who has written and spoken extensively on the impacts of climate change on public health. He is senior co-editor of the book Climate Change and Public Health, the second edition of which will be published in February 2024.
