The bokken is a wooden sword used by the samurai for training purposes. In the modern era the bokken is still studied and practiced to develop power, timing, balance and focus. Class provides an introduction to the sword and safely teach solo movements and techniques meant to be practiced with a partner. Come explore how this ancient discipline can enhance your life. Kirk Berlenbach

Trained as a philosopher and social worker, Kirk works an Episcopal priest. He has studied Japanese swords and Samurai culture for more than 25 years. Since 2004 he has been studying Doshinkan Aikido and currently holds a 2nd Dan ranking.
