Barbara Weiss

Barbara Weiss’ musical experiences range from recording ancient classical Cambodian music to playing harpsichord in operas. A professional keyboard player, she has also performed on clarinet, recorders, and saxophone. While recovering from an injury, she discovered the melodica, a perfect combination of wind and keyboard instruments. She convinced her friends to learn melodica, and they formed the area’s first (but not last!) performing melodica band. Barbara has taught professionals, recorder societies, college students, and children, but her favorite students are adult amateurs. She is also trained to adapt instruments for people with disabilities/injuries. She believes that anyone who loves music can learn to play it.
